I visit my family here some times. I'm from Texas so I have a pretty high bar when it comes to tex-mex but this place is the best mexican I've had here in ms.... I got the torta Melaniez?? It has the fried steak and avocado on it.... To die for!

This is mine & my family's favorite Mexican restaurant! Never had a bad meal or drink, service is always good & fast, & the restaurant itself is very nice & clean! My 12 year old likes it so much that this has been her go-to birthday dinner restaurant for the past 3 years! She chooses this place over anywhere on the gulf coast!

Great service, professional staff. Always willing to please & well mannered. They will also take the time to explain what a meal is and whether a particular item is very spicy or not. We stop in at Hacienda San Miguel every time we are in the area. Our most favorite meal is Coctel de Camerone, basically your shrimp cocktail. We have even, stopped when short on time & picked up two to go. This is not your ordinary item though, one dozen well cleaned very nice shrimp in a spicy sauce with fresh cilantro & onions. Topped with diced avocado & served w/club crackers. We have also tried the Salmon Cerviche and found it to be quite pleasant, as well as satisfying. Very colorful, as well as flavorful. Either item can be a meal by itself. The Sangria, by the glass is very nice also. Restrooms have always been clean & pleasant. The restaurant itself has a festive air and they do have patio seating, if desired.

Awesome food. Awesome service. We love Mexican food and this place did not disappoint. I had the ceviche and my husband had a beef chimichanga. Both were excellent! We also had a chili relleno as a side/extra. Everything was excellent and tasty. The place is also clean and priced very well. Heads up though, the margaritas are huge!

Quite a surprise based on its location behind some gas stations off an interstate exit. The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. I stumbled upon this place by accident but my next trip here will be on purpose. I had the Tacos Al Pastor and the seasoning on the pork was prefect and the portions were generous. I will be back. .

Im from San Diego so I'd like to think i know good Mexican food. With that said this place is legit, the ceviche is fresh like no other, there carne asada tacos are awesome, chips and salsa kickass, there salsa must be a knockoff from cafe coyote in SD. Mexican beer good as usual however i wish they had some craft brews on tap i.e. (IPA's). Bottom line this place is good!

I love this place!! I have always had great service. Not sure what these other folks have experienced? Fajitas are the best I've had anywhere and the staff has always been very helpful. I eat here often and have enjoyed it each time. Robby

Apparently 2:00 to 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon is break time here at San Miguel's. After waiting for 10 minutes without no one even to take our drink orders, we decided to leave and will not be back. Especially since the restaurant was nearly empty at the time. There are plenty of other restaurants in which to spend our money. Poor service like this can hurt their business.

Terrible service on Sunday night. Five servers sitting around outside smoking and joking while one lone server worked bar and served tables. He was totally overwhelmed getting orders wrong. Might have been a bad night, but we definitely will not be back.

Authentic delicious Mexican food . A must try . I had Tacos Al Pastor and my husband had torta de Milanesa ,both dishes were very good . I also had the Tamarind Margarita ,YUM ! I Would have never thought in Mississippi near a gas station would they have this Diamond in the rocks. Not to mention a nice ,clean Best Western hotel across the street that allows pets . This definitely is making our move across state more pleasant . Only down side the people in the front need to turn their frowns upside down .they weren't very friendly .

The worst service I have had in a very, very long time, if ever. The last time we came the food was great and service sucked. This time they decided to both be pretty awful. We will definitely never return. The manager is a joke by the way, the second I complained he said nothing, nodded and took off. He could have cared less about the deplorable service or food that was served. Just a total waste of money and disappointed! Never ever again! Don't bother with this place!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
